69 High Street

Buntingford, Hertfordshire

Year completed: 2014
Project type: Renovation and rear extension
Property type: Grade 2 listed building

About this project:
We have recently completed the renovation of 69 High Street Buntingford, formerly known as Brunels. It opened in September 2014 as The Buntingford Kitchen, and is now a high quality 38 seater restaurant. The property needed a major renovation and total refurbishment. We knocked down the old small extension to the rear of the property and built a new larger extension which is now home to the new state of the art high spec kitchen. The whole building needed to be rewired and we installed new plumbing throughout. We installed a new bathroom in the living accommodation upstairs and fitted a new disabled toilet for the restaurant downstairs. The entire building needed to be decorated inside and out and we had to replace joinery where needed with like for like replacements. The roof had to be stripped back to the original rafters and new felt and battens fitted. We then re tiled the roof using the original tiles. We fitted new cast iron guttering and down pipes (as the building is grade two listed we could not use PVC guttering).
